suddenly
So i was sitting in my truck near the soundstage we're shooting at on the the Universal Studios backlot today listening to NPR and reading US weekly, and as I became shocked to learn that Jake Gylenhaal and Reese Witherspoon are dating, a tram full of tourists drove by. Nearly every person it paused and looked at me curiously for a moment or two, a 23 year old kid lounging with the driver's side door open and his shoes on the dash.
I realized, quite suddenly, how lucky I am. Making the kind of money I'm making (when it's actually consistent), making progress in the industry that I spent 4 years of school learning about and admiring from afar, working on a legendary back lot that people pay good money just to get a glimpse at...sometimes i forget how fortunate I am. I forget how far I've come. I forget how well i'm doing for myself, and how so many of the people I've worked for out here think so highly of me...
It's nice to notice these things.
And now I can't wait for my brand new Blackberry Pearl to come in the mail so i can make my ringtone some lame taking back sunday song and TXT the shit out of all my friends while surfing the internet in between takes on set.
