I move to L.A. May 17th.
So, friends come close in the mean time and make the most of what little time I have left on this coast.
In other news, the second half of our shoot went beautifully-- until it started to POUR. Dut to the weather, we had to cut over a page and a half out of the script...and shoot the remaining scenes in a greenhouse. So, yeah. Also, the lab hasn't sent my negatives back yet, which is very worrisome when considering how long ago I sent them out, and the fact that I have a supervised transfer scheduled for tuesday.
Also-- I was riding in critical mass on friday when an anxious/annoyed cab driver darted to the right without looking and hit me. After nearly getting dragged under the side of his cab, and got in front of him and slowed down to get his attention and keep him from hitting someone else. He honked for about 20 seconds, then gunned his engine.
He ran up on my rear wheel, stopping my bike. I managed not to fall off, but the wheel was so far under the bumper of the cab that the bike couldn't even fall over. So, with about 50 kids on bicycles ahead of us, and my bike/his cab standing as one in the middle of beacon st, a crazy shouting match took place.
I had to replace the wheel, as the rim was cracked in 3 or 4 places, as well as being irrepairably bent out of shape. So now, I have to try to get the $132 my new wheel cost out of his insurance company. He's lucky I'm not charging him with assault with a deadly weapon-- the asshole could have easily killed me.
In case you didn't hear, a crane collapsed at my school's new building which is under construction, killing three people. While taking some equipment back to the rental company, the cabbie driving me talked about life and how unpredictable it is. "I go back to Greece for vacation man, two months! Fuck city and traffic, money!! I no even care, man. Life, it is too short!"
He's right. And in a big way, you know.
