After talking with Charles, Wesley and I decided to cancel the food he'd ordered. Instead, we went out to eat at a really nice, quiet, out of the way Italian restaurant. Wesley told me that this was the place he was going to surprise me with on that day. He'd been planning on taking me here for a romantic dinner, but it never happened because I died. I didn't like thinking about that. Who would really? Who would really want to sit down and think long and hard about the fact that they were dead for months? No one sane.

The little restaurant was perfect. It was lit with candles stuck in old wine bottles, even during the day and all the tables had those cheesy red checked table clothes on them. I grinned at the set up and couldn't help but fall in love with the place. We were seated in a private table in the back and given an appetizer of fresh, warm bread, with a plate of roasted garlic, herbs and olive oil to dip the bread in. It was exactly the kind of place I loved and it made me happy that Wesley knew that about me.

The meal was delicious and the conversation was relaxing. Wes and I talked about everything and nothing. We made sure not to talk about work or anyone that had to do with work and focused on each other. We told each other things we'd never thought to talk about before. We knew we had a second chance at something special and we weren't going to let time slip by this time. I wanted him to know all about me and vice versa. We were going to do it right this time and not miss anything.

After our meal, while we were sharing some tiramisu, Wesley's phone rang. It was Lorne and he was telling us about the party at Wolfram and Hart. Lorne wanted to see us there and he wouldn't take no for an answer. I nodded at Wesley, letting him know that I was ok with going and he gave Lorne the answer he wanted to hear. We finished eating, paid, and headed back to Wesley's to freshen up. I was able to take another shower and change before the party and so was Wes. When we finally made it back to the office, I was ready to have a good time...and possibly get drunk.

((open for wes and anyone else at the party))
