the robots will blow me apart

So, a couple weeks ago, I turned 21. I made myself a cake because I am not eating wheat anymore, but let me tell you, this was one brick of a potato cake. Gluten free cooking is always such an adventure.

On said birthday, I went to Playland with Leo and proceded to make dorky faces on the ferris wheel, amongst other rides.

We went out for dinner with my dearest roommate, Shannon. She loves it when I take her picture, I promise.

Later that week, my super awesome long distance partner in crime, Joni, sent me a birthday package. It was pretty darn awesome and made my day.

Fast forward to this weekend. I went home to Victoria for a family BBQ for my Dad's birthday. Leo had to stay in Vancouver and do inventory, it was disappointing...no wait...Leo was supposed to stay in Vancouver for inventory, but inventory was cancelled at the last minute. So after we embarked on a mad dash to the ferry, complete with broken down buses and brief stops in nearly every municipality in the GVRD.

Apparently, I am scary when I think I'm going to miss the last ferry home; apparently, I also make funny faces like that one a lot.

All in all, I think a good time was had by all. It was good to see my family (17 attending members + cats) and Brown Jenn (even if it was briefly). I think Leo was a little awed by my extended family as his consists of maybe 12 people total, but he he did well enough to earn my Grandmothers' approval.

I love that I'm having my Vancouver birthday party in mid-September. It makes me a cool kid. It can function as an uber belated house warming/really belated Caitlin's 21st/belated Leo's 22nd/welcome back to Vancouver/early Shannon's 21st party...because long names make things more fun. So do the bellinis I've learned how to make. Anyway, I need to sleeeeeeep now, thank you and goodnight.
