Blinded and fighting back angry tears, Fred ran through the hallways, ignoring everyone on his was. As fast as he could, he made his way to the statue of the gargoyle, starting with every sweet name he could think of.
It was near impossible.
Frustrated, scared, and angry, Fred pounded his fists on the wall beside the statue.

Gathering her robes, she stood and went to the entrance to Dumbledore's office, concerned to see a rather frantic looking boy on the other side.
"Weasley, are you alright? Has something happened?"

"Tell me what has happened."
McGonagall stood by, wringing her hands in anxious expectation.

"Oh my..."
"You must tell me exactly what happened," Dumbledore instructed, his voice perfectly serious and yet somehow understanding without having the details explained.

"...I couldn't let him," he mumbled.

The Headmaster simply walked over, searching Fred's face carefully. "I understand, and you will tell me more of that in a moment. But first, you must tell me, where is she now? Where is he?"

He really, really didn't mean to. Really.

"The Ministry is certain to be there when we arrive. You must tell me precisely what happened. I require nothing less than the truth," he told Fred, his voice urgent in his desire to know how best to deal with those who would come to investigate.

Fred was not talking in order. That wasn't what Dumbledore wanted. "First," he corrected. "He crucio'd me. And he hurt her.. he hurt her so much."
A few tears escaped Fred's eyes, dripping down his cheeks.

"He is not hurting her now," he reassured him, "but I need to know everything if we are to avoid the worst for you both. What happened next..?" he prompted, needing only a bit more information before they returned to face the inquiries.

The details were getting kind of fuzzy, Fred couldn't exactly remember.
"He was doing that, I tackled him.. couldn't stop hitting him."
He looked to the Headmaster with desperate eyes. "I didn't mean to," Fred repeated quietly, though he was pretty sure the man in front of him understood.

Before he stood, he met Fred's eyes one last time with a level look, saying nothing more. Then, calling a thick set of robes to him, he dressed quickly against the cool weather he knew would be stirring outside and then looked ot Minerva.
"The students are under your care while I am gone. We shall return once the matter has been settled for the night," he informed her, and then turned back to Fred.
"We must go. Come with me," he instructed him, and then walked swiftly toward the door to exit his office.
