Hello. I'm back.
I've been long absent from this site. Even from visiting it. Unfortunately I have no exciting stories of travel or adventure to explain my absence. Just the mundane day to day of work. Lots of work. Hopefully soon I will be able to pull my face away from the monitor and take in something else. There's got to be more in life than work, oui?
I've learned a little bit more about what works for me lately during a conversation with a good friend of mines. It mainly started off with me saying that I need a hobby... something else besides work. My current "pretend soon to be hobby" is cake decorating (maybe one too many episodes of the Food Network). And my friend has helped me figure out why that appeals to me versus other hobbies. Decorating a cake is something that takes only a very finite time to complete. There's a beginning and a definite end and that's appealing to me. That's definitely missing in my job as I have been working on the same thing for the last 7 years and there is no end. All things should come to an end.
