I have always had this perverse fascination with personal ads. I even managed to do a project on them in a class in college. Back before there was craigslist (or at least a DC-specfic craigslist) I would call up
dj_ango on Sunday afternoons and go through the "Missed Connections" section of the Washington Post. I'd go down the list and ask her things like, "Hey, were you on the red line two weeks ago wearing a blue shirt?" or "Were you a black woman in a mazda miata in Alexandria?" She would calmly answer, "Nope," and I would move on to the next one. I think I was the one to giggle first, generally.
