And I know you'll hate me for the cliffhanger, but I promise I'll continue. Sometime soonish.
Something was wrong with Kelly. No amount of dancing with short-skirted girls could justify the way his eyes were dilated and his cheeks flushed.
He had managed to drag Kelly back to the VIP area, successfully warding off one of the girls who had claimed Kelly had invited her along. “I'm sure he did, but you're not wanted here. Go find someone else.”
He knew he was a bit cruel, but Kelly was his priority right now, sitting him down, possibly get some water into him. Heads would roll if Kenny got wind of the condition of his defender (although he doubted that Kelly was drunk).
Their team mates were all still out on the dance floor so Kelly and him were alone in their dark corner.
“Daniel?”
“Yes?”
“I feel strange...”
Kelly had let his head drop back on the backrest of the bench and was looking at him, eyes big.
“Strange how?”
“I am so hot and... and...” And then he actually let a hand fall into his lap, grabbing himself through his jeans, letting a small moan escape.
Daniel narrowed his eyes. “Get yourself together! You're 21, surely you've been aroused by girls before.”
“Not... not exactly.” When Dan just waited, Kelly interrupted his panting with a deep breath, obviously indeed trying to pull himself together. His hand stopped, but he didn't take it away.
“Not like this. I feel strange. It's like... it's cursing through my blood, hot and demanding. And it's been a long time... since I was this turned on by a woman.”
Dad didn't want to linger on the thought for too long, it wasn't his business, but did Kelly just out himself to him?
He leaned down to the other man, peering closely at his face.
“Did you leave any of your drinks unattended?”
“Noooo...” Kelly started rubbing his hand over his crotch again. “I just had the one beer and two or three shots with the girls.”
“Did you get them at the bar with them? Kelly!”
The other had closed his eyes, biting his lip, but at Dan's words they snapped open again.
“They bought them.”
“Oh damn.” He was losing Kelly, he could see that. Whatever drug the girls had slipped him, was very effectively turning him into a sweaty and moaning mess. When Dan realised that he was about to pull down his zipper, he snatched his wrist.
“Dan, please, I have to do something, please!”
He was a pitiful sight, but Dan couldn't deny that something tugged at his guts.
For a moment he contemplated getting Kelly out of the club, into a cab and home, but they would be seen leaving and the state Kelly was in would breed rumours faster than Luis tweeting about Evra or than Xavi could play a defense-splitting pass. So they had no choice but do something about it here and hope Kelly could calm down enough to get him out without causing a scandal.
So Dan settled down beside him on the bench, moving until he was sure that he hid him from view.
“Go on then.” He vaguely moved his hand, then turned his head away, looking out for anyone that might be approaching them, giving Kelly some privacy.
He was tempted though, a few times, to turn back and find an image to the noises Kelly was making. They were indecent and almost too loud to be drowned by the music and Dan began to feel a bit too hot under his own collar. Oh damn.
He couldn't hold back though when fingers tentatively touched the back of his hand.
He had to hold back a moan himself, seeing Kelly debauched, his jeans open and one hand still in his underwear.
“Feeling better?”
“Hardly.”
Kelly still managed to get his clothes back into some order though, and after taking a few calming breaths and huge gulps of a glass of water Dan had brought him, seemed put together enough to get up and leave.
Dan hadn't drunk anything apart from one beer and a few cokes, so rather than entrusting Kelly to a cabby, he drove him home himself.
Kelly seemed to have dozed off, at least his head was leaned against the window and his eyes were closed. But when they rounded a corner with a bit more speed than Dan had intended, he spoke up.
“Where are we going? This is not my way.”
“Home. My home. I'm not going to leave you alone until you have slept this off.”
“I'd rather you left me alone...”
Dan risked to take his eyes from the street and look at Kelly and he thought he understood what the problem was.
“I have a guest room with an en suit if you want to take a shower. And my walls are quite thick.”
Kelly blushed and Dan smiled. Got that in one.
Kelly did hit the shower first when they arrived and Dan was tempted, so tempted to join him. He tried to distract himself by preparing some coffee but his thoughts still strayed. He knew what Kelly looked like naked under a spray of water and Dan couldn't deny anymore that it turned him on. That Kelly turned him on. But he was in a vulnerable situation right now that Dan couldn't, wouldn't, take advantage of.
“I just wanted to say thanks, before I... um... go lie down.”
Dan turned around at Kelly's voice, found him standing in the doorway in sweats and a T-shirt Dan had lent him.
“No problem. And don't be embarrassed, do whatever you feel you need to do. This will stay between us.”
Something flickered across Kelly's face and he took a step forward, but then he just nodded and left.
Left Dan wondering what he had thought of doing or saying and if he had enough willpower to not follow and just go to bed himself. If he should check on Kelly through the night.
It the end it turned out that he didn't need to.
