Title: Summer scarf

A/N: For elf_md "I am gonna be toooootally unpredictable and I want Skrtel. With Andy. My words are goodbye and scarf."
Andy finds Martin standing by the glass doors, staring out into the garden, a forlorn look on his face. He comes up behind him and wraps his arms around his chest. Martin moulds himself right against his front, the setting so familiar by now, on the pitch and at home, that Andy has to smile a bit. Martin feels good against him, he loves it. Has loved it from the very first time Kenny made them practice set pieces.
He bends down to press a light kiss on Martin's neck and feels the other shiver slightly when his hair brushes against his skin too.
"Cold?"
"Not so much when you're around."
Andy can hear the smile on his voice and rests his chin on Martin's shoulder, looking outside too.
"What's wrong?"
It takes a while before he gets an answer, but he's not in a hurry.
"I hate saying good-bye."
Andy knows, and he hates seeing his lover like this.
"It's just... I don't like it. Christmas cannot come soon enough."
Andy detaches himself and Martin turns around slightly, throwing him a questioning look.
"I have something for you to make it easier."
He heads towards the dining area where he placed the bag earlier and returns to Martin with a grin on his face.
"Here."
Martin still looks sceptical, but he reaches inside and takes out its contents. And then has to stifle a snort before breaking out into full blown laughter.
"Oh gods!"
"I bought the most outrageous one I could find. I know how much you hate to say good-bye to summer, how there's less and less light and colour every day. So I thought this might lighten your mood a bit. And it will keep you warm, it's pure wool, look."
Andy shows Martin the little tag before he wraps the scarf around his neck and pulls him closer by it.
"And if that isn't enough, I'm here now. I'll make sure there's enough light."
Pulls him even closer and kisses him on the mouth, a promise sealed, a promise accepted.
