After four days, Thomas is finally allowed in the house (only because dad needed to clean out the garage). I'll have to endure the stench of the cat box for a while, but it's sure as hell worth seeing the little furball mixed up in my bed sheets.
I applied for Ross again last night after dad suggested that I go in in person; hundreds of folks submit applications online and "hope for the best," usually ending up with another job because they didn't really apply themselves. So, if I call in once a week, I'll have a sure chance of getting it--this job would be the most convenient, as I could simply bike there in lieu of asking for rides or succumbing to my bus phobia. Last summer, I had an interview scheduled with Red Lobster but had to pass it up because I couldn't get a ride...
Mom keeps asking what it is that I plan on doing after high school, because this is my last summer and I can't head straight into the Air Force without a little job experience. So, I hope to keep this job part-time during the school year, as it would help in my learning to properly balance my time when I get kicked out into the real world.
I gave in and made a Twitter, but at least I can follow Glenn Beck. On the other hand, there are a lot of freaky bimbos looking at my profile...
A few friends are coming over for a barbecue on Sunday, which means I'll probably be spending the majority of tomorrow with a sponge and a bottle of Windex. Exuberance.
My brother's commanding officer has been playing "mind games" with him as of late, and it's really getting to my sister-in-law; it's a real shame to see her this way, so mom suggested that I grab a few letters from the wives and siblings of those overseas for her to read. It's her duty, you know? Chris is more scared than she is, guaranteed, and she needs to play her part in his absence--the warrior's wife. Make gift baskets, cards, blankets (or what have you) rather than wallowing in self pity because she can't cling to her man every minute of the hour. She knew what the job entitled when she married him, she should be strong!
Tried to stomach the news and found that I couldn't. How long before the "general public" acknowledges the young men that are dying for our liberties? Michael Jackson is still dead, leave it be. His music is Godawful, anyway.
