I've begun creating my 2019 list of books read, adding the eleventh book of the Repairman Jack series to it - getting close to finishing that series (assuming my library carries all the remaining books). But it got my curious about all the other unfinished book series that I've begun so I went back through my yearly lists of books read. Funny thing is I started keeping track of which books I've read over the year about ten years ago - my first list beginning in 2009.
Quite a few series I can spot along the years where I have unfinished business... I think the Dexter series stands out the most but there's also some like the Mollisan Town Quartet and the Grimm trilogy where I'm just one book shy of finishing their respective series. Still haven't gotten around to reading This Book is Fully of Spiders, which is the sequel to John Dies at the End. The Star Wars Republic Commando series I think I only got tow or three books in, I remember enjoying it... must've gotten sidetracked. The Bas-Lag trilogy I only got one book in, it was weird but great though the other two I think are less direct sequels and more set in the same world. And the Alvin Maker series was off to a great start... just I never followed up finding the second book. I'd almost forgotten about the Anonymous Rex trilogy (only got one book into that as well). There are probably a few more I didn't name... and that's only going by the lists of books I started to keep track of, who knows what series I started prior to that that I've completely forgotten about - not to mention stuff that is currently ongoing (such as the Destroyermen and the Caeli-Amur series) ^.^;;;
I guess this post is more a reminder to me that I have a lot of reading left to do.
