First race of 2012! Wow, this one I felt like I was in a daze for the majority of it. I overslept, I thought I hit the snooze button but apparently I turned my alarm off instead, so somehow my body managed to wake me up at ten to seven (because of my late late nights at work, I had not picked up my bib number during the week and the office giving them out was only supposed to be open til 7:30am). So I raced out of my apartment in like less than five minutes and luckily a train pulled up just as I got to the station. This dropped me off at 63rd street at around 7:15 - the office is on 89th street, it was very unlikely to take the 59th street 4/5 train up to 86th street and then run the last few blocks so I decided to dip into my emergency cash and took a cab (in hindsight the office might've stayed open a little later but it still would be very unlikely I had the time). Got there in time, still plenty of people grabbing their bibs but then had to hike out to 102nd street for the start of the race (and because I like to get everything I paid for, I still had to pick up my t-shirt at the start area).
But in the end I did make it with enough time to spare for the 8am start time - though as I said, I was still in a daze from not fully being awake, not enough sleep, no morning shower... etc.
I completed this race in 1:02:06 with an average per mile of 10:01.
