So wait.

The dude carries a gun around however he pleases. But he said he wouldn't bring it to the con. And they banned him for it?

What?

Well the thing is, the article mentions him carrying but never mentions him carrying at the convention, plus he had a legal permit to do so in those areas - also sounds like anytime there were issues with carrying, any charges were dropped and that he was in the legal right to do so; what it seems to come down to is that AC feared this guy might reflect badly on the con so banned him in advance despite no laws being broken. If there's more going on in the story, it doesn't seem to be listed.

I know there's an echo here, but... what?

Not "what" as in "I don't understand." I mean "what" as in "is this guy even serious?!"

Ah, I think I know what the problem is, you probably missed the tags in this post - it's under furry & drama, that should clear up any further 'whats' you may have ;)

From the sounds of it, I'm not even entirely sure if this takes place during the con. In the comments section of Flayrah IK mentions visiting Pittsburgh during other times of the year, the actual article never seems to clearly state that he carried during the con. It's possible that he may have carried during the con but no evidence or accusation that he did so seems to be stated in the article and certainly no mention of anything happening in the hotel or convention center.

Or... I mean what are you getting at regarding what goes on in the con? A lot of shit goes on in the con, furry is a fairly diverse group of individuals ^.^;;;

All I'm saying is that for someone who wants to protect the "public image" of the con... he'd have to ban a whooooooooooole lot of people from it.

Also, some of those links seem to imply that this roo guy was going to the con, and he'd bring his gun with him, but he wouldn't wear it in or around the con floor.

So he really didn't have a reason for banning this guy, from what I can see.

Ah, I thought you were referring to IK when you were saying "What?" but really you were referring to Kage... my mistake :P

Yeah... I don't have an answer to that. Though SF makes a good point in a comment below that the risks are too high with anyone willing to carry at some other locations, there's too much chaos within the fandom to take it lightly - though the execution left a bit to be desired.

Doesn't he know what goes on in the con?

That would require being lucid at the time.
