Research Paper #163

...Sometimes, I envy Ahiru. People like her, anyway. She's got that sort of personality that...cheers people up. Even if she's clumsy and annoying and loud. I don't envy any of those things. I'm not like that--I've never been like that. I don't really know how to make Sakura or Rue or anyone else feel better...

Although, really, what can I do? What Rue really wants is her Prince. I'm not a prince, I'm a--scholar? Musician? Writer? I don't know anymore. Have I ever known?

...Hopefully Sakura is at least settling down alright. I'm glad she decided to come--she should feel less lonely. And we can play piano together more often, too.

Hmmm...well, if I can't cheer her up...maybe something to play could. Something cheerful...cheerful...Spring Song? That's a good one. I wonder if it'd be the right skill level? ...We could at least try.

I'll ask her about it in the morning. Why am I always staying up so late?

[Voice Post]

Those visitors we get every now and then are certainly...interesting to talk to. They seem like they know things...but they purposefully give us false information. It's sometimes quite clear that some enjoy toying with us. A bit like Drosselmeyer, when I really think about it. Particularly the way they seem to act as though they're the ones pulling the strings...

"Everyone's a marionette," eh, Father?

The lack of information in this City is possibly what bothers me the most...there doesn't seem to be a way to accurately judge what a reliable source is. Not to mention it seems like pretty much every place you could seek answers from is set up to confuse and hide the truth. Everything from the library and those strange visitors and the Deities themselves...

Well, I guess there's nothing we can do but--

[stops and gasps--if you listen very, very closely, you might be able to hear the distant chiming of bells]

That sounds like...the clock tower! No, no, it can't be--why would I hear something like that here?

But it really does sound...

Is this some sort of curse day? Where is it coming from? Is it--?

[Autor yelps out in surprise, then there's a crash, and then--silence.]

((OOC: Autor's gone back home for a week or so! When he comes back, he may or may not be restarted--check the poly_tldr thread for more details.
On Autor's desk is the sheet music for Spring Song, with a half-finished scribbled note to Sakura offering to teach her it. One of Autor's inkwells was knocked off his desk and is now lying broken on the floor in a pool of ink. All of the items Autor brought with him from his home have returned with him, but everything he acquired in the City is still in their places, untouched.
I'll be back dating any comment logs he was doing, and...if I missed an entry he was needed in? Give me a ping and we can backdate that, too.))
