Watch for the sky tonight!

Mar 26, 2004 01:19

I am up late as usual, and wanted to make an important announcement. Should have done it earlier. But hopefully, some of you can still catch it. If not tonight, then in the days to come.

OK. Here is the deal:

A very unique and exciting configuration is now visible in our night skies and can be seen with the naked eye - no other equipment is required, you can witness this event yourself! Five planets of our Solar System are now visible at dusk, look for the crescent Moon slightly below and to the left of Venus this Thursday evening, March 25. You can't miss the site, with Venus shining brighter than all stars and planets. Then look below and to the left of Venus to find Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. This is an exceptional configuration, it forecasts many important elements within the Zodiac and it is not until April 2036 that there will be another chance to readily see all five naked-eye planets at the same time in the evening. The sky show will be at its best from late March into the first days of April: the planets will all be simultaneously in view in the early evening sky from roughly 45 to 90 minutes after sunset.

The moon looked awesome here tonight and I think I saw Venus too. :)
