my kids surprise the shit out of me sometimes
so we were at the big Cinco celebracion yesterday. and my big girl entered a raffle to win this super sweet, sparkly green lowrider bike. And I think she really thought she was going to win it because she wanted it more than anyone else..well she didn't win of course and was choking back tears when the DJ announces that there is going to be a breakdancing contest on stage and she turned her head so fast I thought she was going to fall over. She's all "see ya" and took off through the crowd, I chase her and we end up at the stage and she's already talking to the bouncer and saying she's going to compete. I think the kids were suppose to sign up earlier, but you know, she's little and cute and they think, what the hell. So she's up there with all these teenage boys and obviously she's not the best dancer but she is throwing down in front of a crowd (that today's newspaper estimated to be between 7-10,000). Anyhow, she lasted out 5 rounds and totally fucking WON!! Cuteness and determination. The boys were hella gracious and super supportive. It was really sweet.
