Beneva, Finnegan's Wake Ealing - July 22
Following a terrential downpour, I was picked up literally from my door to head down to London in the Beneva!bus, and twas a lovely journey listening to some demos of songs old and new. Arrival in London was pretty much on time, 5.30 ish and with phonecalls from muns and anonypooh and having a little difficulty in finding somewhere to park I jumped out and into the pub!
Whee Beneva Sthpk badges! Sooooooo cool :) I should take piccies of them :) Upon arrival of lea_ysaye and londinensa we headed inside to join the boys and Michaela who were guarding their gear ;) and soon we were joined by the last of the afternoon's party Jo and Kate!

A couple of drinks later and it was time to grab food. Couldn't find the Chinese that had been suggested but happened upon a lovely Tandoori restaurant who had a table capable of seating 10 YAY! And this was where Malc and Nathan were starting to decide the setlist for the evening and Jules piped up and said, I'll tell you what to do! Hahaha Nathan produced a spare pen and paper and handed it over to Jules and myself to write our own setlist at the same time as them saying they'd choose the best one! LMAO that was so much fun heeheehee

Then back to the pub for the evening's entertainment, joined by Daniella (last of our party)

Just excellent as usual, lighting was crappy so piccies not great! Confused Jules and I completely by not starting with Now I've Got the Summer, which had been the starter on BOTH setlists! Tut tut tut, teasing us with setlists ;) They covered Predict a Riot by the Kaiser Chiefs too, which was just excellent. Dancing ensued throughout, and Jules and I sang along on We Work to Live to each other :)
Too soon it was over :( And the next band were a bit noisy for everyone apart from me, hahaha, so out to the beer garden for us, although muns had already had to leave cause of trains and such:( AUGUST THE TWELFTH Munira! And slowly one by one (or in pairs or threes) the party got less and less, and then it was time to go home! But not before I'd shown all and sundry my pants, discussed T?'s song about James Joyce with James Joyce, proposed to Lea, decided I wanted a Harem and soooooo much more! No snogging though ;)

Lovely journey home enjoying ringtones and music on mobile phones :) Great gig, great food, great company, altogether a wonderful afternoon/evening!
