Seeing as school starts up again in five days, I decided to take a look at what classes I had signed up for last winter. Here they are:
Russian History
Sub-Saharan African History
Racial and "Cult" minorities ( a sociology class)
International Politics
Native American Lit
and
a the stupid field observation class I had taken (and complained profusely about) last spring.
What the hell was I thinking? Actually, I can use all of these classes for my degree ( as you might have guessed, I'm filling in the holes here before committing the whole teaching program), but still....what a lineup. This is looking to be a quite depressing subject matter. More horrifying than all of this, though, was my tuition bill. Wow. I cannot walk properly now, and will need years of psychological therapy to get me through this traumatic experience. I found the price tag, and immediately listened to "boys don't cry", before recomposing myself some time later.
Finally, Hunters of Dune, get into it. The Tleilaxu are back in a big way. I'm only about a third into it, but I thinking the "master of masters" are up to something.

update:
EMU faculty went on strike today, for the second time in as many years. I believe things will be resolved by the sixth, when the fall semester is to begin, but still find it amusing. An extra day or so off would be nice, but I'm not holding my breathe.
