After a lot (a lot) of talking and persuading, Mac and Bren finally relented and agreed to have Juno be interviewed by one Corky Sherwood. They were happier with the fact that their means of communication would be through a cheeseburger, rather than face-to-face.
Laying down on her bed, Juno looked at the number she'd been given, and dialed it onto the burger patty's number pad. Bringing the top bun to her ear, she listened for the ring tone, but there was only static at the other end.
"God damn piece of shi--"
"JUNO!" yelled Bren, who had now manifested in the doorway. With a swift glare, Juno shook the cheeseburger around, listening to the little plastic and metal parts jiggle around on the inside. Bringing the receiver to her ear again, she finally heard a ring tone and gave an, 'Okay, you can leave now' look to Bren. Surprisingly, she obliged and walked out of the room.
Juno stared up at the ceiling as the phone kept ringing, mindlessly flipping the card over in her hand a few times. She wondered if Paulie would watch the interview if it made it onto television. Or if they could even get the show out in the middle of Minnesota from the east coast. Letting out a sigh, she let the phone keep ringing, hoping for someone to pick up at the other end.
