~/~~ A day to Remember . . .
So yesterday July 1st 2006 was indeed the broski's wedding to Robyn and well a live journal update has to be had.
The day began at 8 and the bro and I went to pick up flowers for the wedding party to wear, they were ivory roses for me, the father one and the ushers and a pink rose for the groom. The bro was sick a few times but he blames that on the virus he had last week of course it had nothing to do with the nerves eh? After picking up flowers we drove to his flat to shower and then came back to the parental unit home and got changed into the wedding attire. The last half hour was a complete riot. It looked like a department store had exploded in my bedroom.....clothes..shoes..socks everywhere but I must say that the kilts made everyone look stunning and so smart. I have lots of pictures ha-ha the whole day was captured on film.
Okay so the cars came early and the ushers were escorted round to the church and then the brother one and the parental unit and I went to the church for about 2. Following suit was the obligatory photographs and the photographer had us jumping up in the air and everything. Quality. The brother one and I were escorted to the vestry and we sat and chatted with Mr Purves the Minister. Man what a character. Who would have thought that a minister would drive a Subaru and have long-ish hair and with red bits in it. Of course Robyn was late as all brides are but this was a bit torturous for the bro as he had time to get a bit nervous again. The big moment came and some woman who works at the church came and told us the bride had finally arrived. They were supposed to be married at half two but Robyn did not arrive until nearly 3 lol. Craig and I came out of the back and into the church and the Aunt Agnes wolf whistled. Craig was a bit "omg get me out of here" whereas I think I saluted her ha-ha. Anyways Robyn follows the bridesmaids into the church who btw were gorgeous and Robyn was actually stunning. Her dress was gorgeous. I told the broski that she looked stunning. When Craig turned to look at her she started beaming and so did he. I think it is plain to see just how happy the two actually are. It was quite funny though as standing beside Craig and Robyn doing their promises and ring presentation they were beaming the whole time but all I could hear behind me was sobs from the people crying lol. It was a terrific service and everyone agreed that both Craig and Robyn looked stunning.lol. Afterwards the signing of the wedding schedule was done and then we walked back down the aisle with myself escorting Nikki, the best maid.
Outside more pictures. More congratulations and then off to the Botanics for pictures. Right in the middle of the Botanics in front of pure randomers getting pictures taken. Being made to stand all ways....back to back...holding hands and doing a funny walk. The photographer was really good at making you feel calm lol.
So after that over to the grosvner we went and waited at this bar while they were ensuring that the Suite we were in was ready etc etc. Okay so after more pictures and banter we were ushered through to the suite and then Craig and Robyn were piped into the room and they cut the cake. More pictures and then dum dum dum The Speeches. Robert (Robyn's dad) went first. He got a bit flustered but it was quite nice. Robyn went next. Short and Sweet. Craig next where he toasted the bridesmaids etc and then last but by no means least Myself. My speech went down a hoot. Everyone said so and I had them all laughing. Fantastic. Robyn even gave me a thank you for doing it....even though at the end I did call them "Golden boy and Princess" lol. Meal time. Was rather nice. Melon with mango, med tomato soup, chicken in white wine sauce and then fruit in a candy basket (which was yummy ha-ha). Then after that was done it was time to be ushered back into the other bar were it was time to wait on them setting up for the evening part of the evening.
Back into the hall about 10 to 9 were the first dance was executed. It was a nice. MORE PICTURES! LOL. Second dance I had to dance with Nikki and it was nice too. Then the fun started. Started off with a Celidh. I dragged the Aunt Aggie Pie one up to dance to the gay gordons. Was actually hilarious ha-ha. And then I got dragged up to do strip the willow by Nikki ha-ha. And then I got dragged up by the mother one to do the Canadian barn dance or something. Fun times had by all....if not a tad exhausting lol. Then a break for the buffet and then more "normal" songs...but come on how normal is Paris Hilton...eh not very! lol. And then that was it till the end of the night when one got home at half 3 lol. Fun times had by all :)
The other good bit about the wedding is that I have today off work :) yasssss
