Yesterday...
It was nice here, not obviously the middle of winter. More like early spring with the temperatures being early summer. But the trees tell you it's a ruse. I sat on our deck, when a young hawk flew down and landed on the top of one of the trees. We spent about 3-5min staring at each other. The treeline is usually too tall for them to come this low, but the fall has made it easier. It's the second time this has happened. Means my husband picked a good place for us.
Saturday was even more of a gift. The morning came with fog, and while I don't live on the top of the hill, the valley is below us. So the sunrise brought the eerie view of dark, empty trees with mists floating through them. I tried to capture it on camera, but my phone sucks these days. Whatever update was done last year makes everything pinkish. As much as I'm not a morning person, I'm truly beginning to enjoy getting up early. Just so I can enjoy the quiet that is the world waking up. Watching the birds on the front porch slowly gather for their breakfast.
