Things that make the heart sing...
Being surprised by your students taking it to the next level. We had our gymnastics "recital" today, and I had several students that I was concerned with about how they'd perform. I'm proud of them. One of them did full backbends for the first time, enough to count has having accomplished the skill. Another proved to me that she can do stuff (because I caught her doing it) and she knows I caught her doing it. Which means they don't get to slack off on any of this anymore. So next week it's going down. I am soooooooooo proud of them. Two are moving on to one of the team development classes, so if they think I let them slack, they're about to get a wake up call. The coaches for those classes won't put up with any of that (and I try not to let them get away with much, but I focus more on encouragement than anything else. I want them to believe in themselves).
On another note, my deck isn't dry and rain is in the air. Awesome.
