Life Update
I walked to work this morning. It's still cold and icy, but somehow, it's starting to feel like Spring.
And yes, I still have a job. The layoffs at work were crappy and terrible. There's a lot of changes coming, but I'm glad I still have a job.
My mom spent a few days in the hospital. They changed some of her meds, altered some other stuff, and we'll see what happens. She's had a lot of tests lately, so we're hoping to get some good results.
Her oncologist said that her cancer looks to be in remission, or at least there are no active cancer cells right now. This is great news! Unfortunately, the side effects of the chemo and radiation almost killed her, and continue to mess with her health to this day. She's a fighter, but she has been through so much in the last two years. The newest side effect? The nasty infections she had a year ago (the pneumonia, etc.) caused nerve damage to her ears, and she's lost quite a bit of hearing.
This week, I learned that someone I talked to on lj for the last few years and vaguely knew irl passed away unexpectedly. Not really sure how to feel about this. It's too complicated to get into here.
Let's just say it's been a week of reflection.
Lor continues to be awesome, a source constant support. Love that girl.
