I reread this one and realized I hadn't commented on it! How did I not comment on this?!?!?

I've already dubbed you PunMaster, I'm going to have to add AUMaster too. This was amazing. The world-building was fantastic -- and is world-building the right term when the world you've built isn't imaginary? Your cast of characters was so well placed in the AU and really fit, you didn't need to force anything. And your Loki was so appropriately smarmy and villainous. I loved what you did with Thor too, he's no dummy. Darcy and Kate! EVERYONE is done so well!

Add in all those little details you're so good at and the banter, LOVE the banter!

aww, it's okay, I knew you loved it. :) But I do appreciate the comments!!! Worldbuilding is definitely the right term to use here because even though the world could be a plausible one (ie doesn't have magic), it's still an imaginary world. And you still have to fill in the details, like everybody's jobs and whatnot. *takes a bow* I had such a blast coming up with everybody's jobs. This was, I think, the first time I ever got a compliment on writing Thor, which is weird (I always have problems with Thor).

I'm not gonna lie. Darcy and Kate were my favorite. I have no idea why I wanted to make them frenemies, but once the idea struck, I couldn't let it go. I imagine a sequel in which they're Thelma and Louise and go off a cliff together, snarking at each other the whole time.

Thankfully, I've got too many other projects going on to write that one! ;)

A lot of people seem to have problems with Thor, and I guess I can see why because I've seen his movie. But it always makes me cringe when I see his dialogue ALL IN CAPS and he sounds like a really bad Renaissance fair actor. You really did a great job with his dialogue and your description of him, all the power, muscle, size and sheer presence of him.

I'd read that sequel -- the snark factor would be EPIC.

I honestly think Thor got a little easier to write after The Avengers. His own movie was nothing but a hot mess and the characterization was all over the map. The way he was written in Joss's movie made me understand him a lot better, and I definitely pulled more of that version of him into this fic. I'm curious to see how his movie goes on Friday. Eep.

He did mature a lot between Thor and The Avengers. I think I liked him better in The Avengers too. Joss and Chris did a great job with showing the new side of him.

The trailers for the new movie look pretty good. I'll admit to being a little shallow too -- my first thought when I saw it was that his hair looks much better. I have tentative plans to see it the weekend after it opens. My friends and I have aged past wanting to see anything on opening weekend. We don't like kids on our lawns either.

Oh, was that you shaking a walking stick at me last week? :)

My first thought when I saw the trailer was that it reminded me of the Star Wars prequels. Which really made me side-eye the entire franchise.

I actually don't remember a whole lot about the Star Wars prequels. I've seen them, but didn't like them. My mind must be repressing the memories to save me the horror.

I like your brain better than I like my brain.
