It’s been awhile since this journal was used for anything but fic. I’ve been writing great gobs, which means I don’t really have much to say. Almost two chapters of my next Greater story are done. That one’s going to be weird because it’ll have a little bit of a mission in it (usually I skirt around missions in that universe, as I chose to focus on the family and things I like. It was originally conceived as a way for me to have stress relief-short, pithy stories about a family situation where I could focus on different aspects as my mood demanded-but somehow has become one of the most stressful stories in my life). I’m working on a Big Bang fic with a friend and we’re behind, so Monday I wrote a 4k chapter and yesterday I wrote a 2k chapter.
As an aside, it could be that noir writing is where I belong, truly, because on top of that story, I’m in the middle of filling a prompt of
sugar_fey’s from the Promptathon, where Clint’s a photographer and Natasha’s an investigative journalist. I broke out my best Woodward and Bernstein, and I get to banter to my heart’s content. See?
“Well, it’s time we clean it up, then.”
“Coffee, first. Definitely coffee.” He closed the laptop and slid it into his bag.
“I already gave you donuts.”
“And then you told the cops we were married. That means you owe me coffee.”
“Oh, don’t tell me you never thought about it, Barton,” Natasha said, heels clicking on the tile floor.
This weekend is going to be a blast. I’m meeting up with two different Avengers-related friends. I’m going to coffee with some other writers and then to a dumplings party with Daroos, who I went to see Much Ado with a couple of months back. To get fruit, Mom and I hitting up the farmer’s market at Soulard, which I’ve never done before, so I’m excited.
This is all after my Friday-night roleplaying game where my brother-in-law and I face off in a battle of wits, of course. For those of you following along at home, I’m roleplaying as Carol Danvers and so far I’ve managed to drop Kate Bishop, kill some scaly shadow-cats, burn my bridges with the police (it’s okay, that guy died anyway!), annoy Thor, and call Bruce Banner in to investigate the poison in Carol’s bloodstream. Our bad guy is Bullseye and at some point, we’re going to have to deal with Daredevil, something none of us are looking forward to. Also, Carol apparently is bisexual in this universe.
I got my assignments for Fall TV for Nice Girls. It looks like I’m pitching in on Agents of SHIELD, Arrow, and Sleepy Hollow, and Tomorrow People is all mine. Please don’t suck, Tomorrow People. And my big trip is in less than a month! SO EXCITED. I’ll have a postcard entry up soon, if anybody wants me to send them a postcard from where we’re going. And more details about where I’m going and what I’m doing, of course.
Sorry I’ve been so out of it!
