This morning while checking my friends LJ, I fell upon
gunhilda telling us about this man, Mr Tancredo who is running for president and look at this article to understand why I was so outrage:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/ Basically, he thinks that : "that bombing holy Muslim sites would serve as a good 'deterrent' to prevent Islamic fundamentalists from attacking the United States."
Who te hell is this man? ok, I thought Bush was not the brightest bulb in the universe quite early (when he was running for president the first time), sorry if I offended anyone with that, but Mr Tancredo really takes the cake.
The world is becoming a smaller place...we have so much freedom on the internet, everything is connected. Often, I think that internet is like the Force (you know the Star Wars thing), thanks to him we transcend frontiers, races, religious conflicts.
When Mr Bush wanted to go to Iraq with the support of France, we refused on the basis that he had no plan whatsoever of the after-invasion and he had no proof of those weapons we heard so much about (and still haven't seen anyway...).
For a while, I heard and read in the papers at home that the Americans were now almost ennemies of France because of that decisions..that they even changed the French fries for the Freedom fries...
But I went on the internet and saw that it was a minority...mostly politicians wanted to make a name for themselves by attacking a country that did not care about such pettiness. And that's my point, Mr Tancredo wants publicity and with such a statement, he is sure to get one...what he says is outrageous towards the Muslim community of course but also towards all religious communities because as
gunhilda says so well: I am you; you are me; we are all
Sorry for this long rambling but I needed to say that...
