All sounds good, especially the snow (though, not the accompanying cold).

"Inuit" is PC in Canada, but Eskimo is generally PC. Inuktitut has three vowels and no adjectives. (I have a copy of The QI Book of General Ignorance and there's more than a page on the subject of Eskimos and Inuits, but I'd rather not write more than anyone would care about :) .

Isn't one actually a subsect of the other (all Eskimos are Inuit but not vice-versa, I think)?

'Au chômage'... I always remembered that at AS-Level by thinking 'on the ch-cheese' because it's clearly 'au frômage' misspelled... I note you've also got into spelling pig-meat au (or should that be en?) français.

The other way around. Alaskan Eskimos would take offence to being called Inuit (who live mainly in northern Canada and parts of Greenland). Also, I've just checked: Inuit would consider it rude to be called Eskimos.

The book doesn't say whether the Inuvialuit (also in Canada) would consider it rude to be called Inuit, but it implies so by suggesting it's the same thing as calling all black people Nigerian or all white people German.
