Wow, sounds like your French is really coming on :) And it's good to hear that something is vaguely being done about the immigration papers.
we're getting to be a pretty good cooking team me and Sash
It's such a nice feeling when that happens. Sometimes it's like that with me and Ilya, like we subconsciously know who is going to do what and we just get on with it without needing to ask. But sometimes we just end up bickering. Although come to think of it, even when we are being a good team we still end up bickering, but at least it's the fun kind of bickering as opposed to the patronise-me-again-and-I'll-stab-you-with-a-sharp-implement stuff... Although that can be pretty fun too now that I think about it... :)
I think I'd find it a bit hard if everything was totally new and different to my family tradition as well, but it sounds like you're approaching it with the right attitude. Plus all that food sounds gorgeous :D Enjoy!
Jacques' family is a mixed-heritage family: his Mum does Christmas the Scottish way (presents on the 25th) and his Dad the German way (24th), so they compromise and do half the presents on the evening of the 24th and the other half on the morning of the 25th :)
Awwwwww - it must be really tough around this time of year for you - I often think of you and think you are doing so well!! And I second Chery'l comment about your French - it sounds like you're coming on in leaps and bounds!!
Have a wonderful Christmas, honey! And enjoy all your pressies from home ;o)
