Dust, grass, mould and kittens

It would seem that I am well overdue for an update.

About four weeks ago I started working as an Exhibitions Assistant for the National Sports Museum and Melbourne Cricket Club.
I would have to say that I freaking love my job. It's hard work, I'm learning a bucketload, and I'm being tested on a daily basis, however I feel alive while I'm there, and really look forward to heading in for the day. It's great to be able to really use a lot of what I've learned at uni over the past (almost) decade. It's gotten me really excited about what I do. Whilst previously I've been all about 'Leaving University FOREVER', now...I'm considered Masters because I'm excited again, I like where I work, I like the university I'm with, and I can see interesting learning ahead.

There are also exciting things afoot, but I'm not allowed to talk about them just yet.

Today, I got a scratch allergy test. Specifically, I was interested in testing for a cat allergy, but apparently when you do the test, you have to have them all done at once.
So I was tested for: Dust, Grasses (Grass Mix, Couch Grass, Perennial Rye), Trees (Pine, Privet, Acacia, and Birch), Mould (Atlernaria and Mould Mix), Cats and Dogs.
The verdict: I'm allergic to dust and grasses (especially couch grass apparently) - no surprises there. I'm also somewhat allergic to mould. I'm the tiniest little bit allergic to cats (to a manageable degree I'm told). And I'm not allergic to anything else. No allergies in the dramatic life threatening end of the spectrum, judging by how the women filled out the sheet. Which I guess we all knew, otherwise I'd probably not have survived the harsh dust filled world we live in for this long.

So, the meaning of all that is...there will hopefully be a small fourlegged edition to our family soon!

What else?
We're all moved and settled. Mostly. The apartment is still in a little bit of disarray, but that's mostly mine and Borderlands' fault.

Oh, I've started dancing twice a week with Chunky Moves. It's highly enjoyable. I like using my body again, even if it's not doing what it's told.
