Xmas

Dec 26, 2006 05:39

well i survived.  i survived 4 whole days alone with no escape from my brother and mother, stranded up at coolum.  we stayed at the hyatt.  which, of course, would have been lovely if only i had someone nice there to share it all with.

highlights :
- being in the sun at the beach again!  oh it had been too long.
- fruit and fresh baked seed bread with honey for breakfast!! <-- awesome. awesome. awesome.
- oh my gods.  i found a guns n roses pinball machine.  yes i spent a lot of dollars on it. ^_^;;
- spending xmas arvo with my estranged father's side of the family!

and that's about it.

but elaboration : my mum had lost most contact with my dad's side of the family after dad passed away when i was young.  we only see em once in a blue moon and usually only his sister.  now dad was 10 years older than mum, and his sister 10 years older than him.  so she, my aunt patsy, is the age of my grandma on mum's side.  so her kids, my cousins, are all about 50 years old.  i LOVE patsy, and i LOVE her whole family. they're the family i always wanted.  they're relaxed and easy going and caring and beautiful. the sons are simple country boys at heart and their wives all seem to have some kind of hippie flower power thing going on. and they all love to get pissed.  so i had the best time, and they've all adopted me as their own and invited me to go stay with them whenever i like!!  YAY! i have a family. of my very own.

the rest of the trip was painful, to say the least.  the cabdriver xmas evening was hot though.  really damn hot.  i mean sexy.  oh damn.
