So the Sharks and the Pens are both out now, and I didn't even watch either of their last games due to having a houseguest over the weekend. I would like to be classy like
withdiamonds and congratulate any Blues and Flyers fans on my flist, but I don't think there actually are any. Or if you're there, you have been very quiet! (I'm not counting
lovelypoet's Pens-Flyers fencesitting, as she has also allowed herself to be seduced by the Kings and consequently I do not respect her hockey choices anymore. ;p BEAT LA. oh wait, I was going to be classy.)
Anyway. Two Giants victories in one day today (including Lincecum's first win of the season!) have gone some way towards soothing the weekend's double disappointment. I'm still flipping over to the hockey games in between innings, and now that I'm not so busy wringing my hands over the scores, I've had more time to sit back and enjoy what amazing skaters these guys are - their power and control and just, like, the long smooth camera shots of defensemen gliding backwards like they're being pulled on a string. They make it look easy, and it's so pretty to see. Next season I'm going to get down to the Pavilion for sure.
Meanwhile, how bad do you think it would be if I booked a round trip ticket for one leg of my vacation and only flew the outbound part of it? Would that get me onto some TSA shitlist? I get why a one-way ticket costs more than half of a round trip, but I don't get why it has to cost THREE TIMES as much.
