nothing here to be afraid of

1) Many thanks to rikes for the awesome postcard! Yay for cool architecture!

2) I wave my squee flag for Chris lipsynching Nine in the Afternoon: *waves*! However, I have to admit my enjoyment of his casual laidback handsome swagger and OMG knowledge of a Panic song is a bit tarnished by the dramarama of the circumstances surrounding the clip's creation. I think asking for Panic to participate was a dumb request for the radio guy to make, or perhaps deliberately inflammatory since it appears he already had a vexed relationship with them going in; and it also sounds like they were none too gracious in declining. So, feh. Maybe instead JC can take Chris along the next time he goes to see a Fall Out Boy show. That seemed to work out pretty well.

3) Icon ramblings as selected by smallbeer:

His Serene Foresightfulness - Laaaaance in all his out gay regalia, including boyfriend's arm around his shoulders. Okay, no longer the current boyfriend, but still. Lance came out and is totally gay in public! I am still so excited about this! The keywords are a self-indulgent reference to an AU bunny in which Lance was an emperor with an extensive harem.

the way out is through - Aw, my first Gerard icon. In fact, my first MCR or indeed bandom icon of any ilk. He looks so clean-scrubbed and at tenuous peace here. And I really admire his three and half years of sobriety, and Way is just a very punnable surname, all right? I am not known for my resistance to these types of things.

a dark horse riding up - Speaking of empires. Hey, didja hear Pete just opened up a new satellite AK location? Patrick is not visible here but he's what Pete's gazing down at. And Patrick is the First Minister of Awesome, but Pete is the emperor of ice cream. This was inspired by hearing They Might Be Giants play the James K. Polk song at a show last fall.

love until you don't - This is the heartbreak of Timbertrick for me, that they were so close and MFEO and married and domestic like this for so long, and then they weren't anymore. Basically all of Patience condensed into 100x100 format. Regina Spektor keywords because the matter-of-fact, resigned tone of those lyrics matched my mental image of what happened here so perfectly.

might be less intolerable - I made this on a whim a little while back when I was reading a collection of Austen's letters, because I so dearly love the sharpness of her glance and the displeased, grouchy set of her mouth. It doesn't see a lot of action, but I use it sometimes for comments related to books and literature, and sometimes just for general crankiness and annoyance.

we happy few - The CITY is at WAR and the Cobras are suiting up for battle! They look so utterly resolute here and I love that. Also Victoria is wearing one of her quasi-demure little dresses and looking smoking hot in it as she always does. ♥ Anyone else's manhood will definitely be held cheap next to these really, really ridiculous good looks.

thanks, pop, bandom, icons
