This is my story for bandslash_usa; my state (as will shortly become abundantly clear, I'm sure) was Missouri. MCR, Frank/Gerard, R, about 2200 words. Many, many thanks to clumsygyrl for her excellence of fabulousness in organizing the challenge! And also Fi is made of awesome and I squoosh her!

oh, man, i love how uncertain gerard is in this, how daring he feels grabbing frank's hand, how happy. i don't know why it pleases me so to think of them this way, but it really does. thank you!

Thank *you*! I got very fond of thinking of them like this too, so I'm just delighted that this Gerard worked for you.

oh, i really loved this. especially here:

Gerard enjoyed that, all of it, but he worried about pushing his luck. What if he hung around too long, clung too much, and Frank got tired of the whole thing? He didn't want to think about it.

and how well you show us that he doesn't need to be worried at all, right up until you finally let him know it too. LOVE.

I'm so happy you said this, because I was partly afraid that I'd made Frank too obvious for Gerard to be worried. But people have such infinite capacities for putting blinders on too, so. Thank you so much!

This was beautiful. Somehow you managed to capture the rhythms of Gerard's uncertainty and the quiet of touring. I'm not sure what you did exactly, but I am in awe.

As a sidenote, I remember really liking your use of language back in ye olde popslash days, and I'm thrilled to see you're writing in bandom now. (I may friend you; do not be alarmed. Something about bandom has made me much more interactive than I ever was before. I blame the Cobra.)

ETA: Also, you did not write Frank as a crack-addled monkey! Go you!

Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm very happy the rhythms worked for you; what a lovely compliment. And yeah, I think Frank has a lot of maturity, more than he sometimes gets credit for.

Friend away, if you want! I like friends. Especially ones who've got the Cobra bless. ;)
