the "think system"

Last week, the Buttercup's wonderful music teacher asked them to figure out "Twinkle twinkle Little Star" on glockenspiel. They usually sight-read, so this was an exploratory assignment. Unbeknownst to me, she told them they should start on F. Well, of course you can't play "Twinkle twinkle" on a C Maj glockenspiel starting on F. There's no B flat. Like Mrs. Paroo correcting Amaryllis in "The Music Man," I got a little tired of listening to that B natural. So I shifted her over to G. Tears and anger ensued. Six-year-olds don't give in gracefully when they know they're right. Yesterday was music class, and it turns out that, yes, they were supposed to play it incorrectly for a week, then this week they would play it correctly. I have absolutely NO future career in teaching.
