I hate, hate, HATE Warhammer. The programmers are all WoW fans and they were thrilled that they were so innovative as to use dye in the game. They just thought that was great! Spouse was like, "Um, guys? GW has had dyes the whole time plus you can mix colors," and they're all like, "Yeah, but GW is too hard and we don't play it because we don't like it." Oh man, and I can't even tell you how many times in WH that I've just given up quests because I couldn't find the objective. After a couple of days of hunting, screw it. I'm done. Next? And the graphics suck. Playing GW after WH is like putting on glasses and seeing the world clearly again.
And the worst thing about WH, ok, for all of YOU anyway, LOL...the worst thing is, YOU have to pay once a month to play. Yes, buy the game, which isn't any cheaper than any other game, and then keep paying for the honor of playing. And then there's the servers, just like WoW. You can't play with anyone unless they're on the same server. And yes, if YOUR server fills up, you can't play. You can start a new character on a different server (and never be able to trade items because it's a different server) but if your particular server is full, you might be paying for the service but you ain't gettin' any! Developers didn't see a problem with that because WoW has servers too. And now that I think of it, I haven't even played WH in 2 months. THAT'S how much I hate it. I've completely solved GW, log in, look around, and leave 'cause there's utterly nothing to do and no one from the alliance is online, so I bail. But I still won't play WH.
GW is too hard? Huh. Interesting perspective. I feel GW is relatively easy to learn, but hard to master -- the real top guilds like The Last Pride, War Machine, Treacherous Empire, Idiot Savants etc did play on a whole different level than the rest of us plebes :P.
Yeah, I've wandered around quest locations in WAR too, trying to find something minuscule on the ground. I did think it was a nifty system to just indicate the general area of the quest, rather than exactly indicating where you have to be, like GW does.
Yeah, the server system bugs :/. God bless GW and its international district and free travel between districts :P. I understand WoW even has a split between America/Europe/Asia/Oceania whereby you can't even play with Americans if you're European, unless you jump through hoops (getting an American gamecard or something like that). Since I have a lot of international online friends, that just blows.
They had to take out the whole online neighborhood thing they were going to do because they're out of time and they couldn't get it to work. I believe that was a major selling point so they might do a work around or quietly drop that aspect. Last time I told him that I will gladly volunteer to beta test the holy f*ck out of that game since I was so pissed at Sims2 (come on! Who puts out a patch the day a game is released? And still so many bugs I stopped playing it entirely!) that I do NOT want Sims3 to be unplayable, the word on the street was that they are no where close to being ready for the release date. Which means it's going to be buggy because they haven't spent enough time working it and that they'll have to pull more features to get it out the door.
Oh goodness, imagine that, an EA product being buggy as hell :P
I pretty much only play Sims 2 with a whole bunch of player-created mods (JM Pescado = God) to get rid of all the annoying shit they put in.
I'm sad to hear Sims 3 is going south, though. They oughta just push the release date back and fix shit before it's going out the door, but the odds of that happening are pretty damn small :/
Yeah, I know. It reminds me of a company called Sierra (anyone remember Leisure Suit Larry?) and a game called, "Outpost." Holy crap that game was amazing! When it didn't crash your computer, which was like every 10 minutes. And the patches made it worse exactly like Sims2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outpost_(computer_game)
YOU have been instrumental. I told Spouse what you said. I said you can't be the only one. He'd like to gather as many post from people who think EA is turning out crap to use against the lazy employees who don't care about quality.
Do you know any other people who think Ea quality sucks?
Me! I loved Sims 2 (never played the original), but the bugs in the game bothered me so much that I don't play it anymore, and I'm seriously not even thinking about purchasing Sims 3. I've never tried any other EA Games, and I'm not likely to either, if they're anything near as buggy as Sims 2.

But I highly recommend Dead Space and Mirror's Edge!
Things aren't looking good for Sims3 though. Not good at all.
