Teaching to my peers

Sep 09, 2008 13:28

I just finished teaching to my fellow graduate students in Engineering Education. My first experience in this setting of getting up in front of my colleagues and teaching stuff I teach all the time.

I was oddly nervous. I think it went well, although I need to find more ways to pull them into the interaction. Even with a small group that was largely interested, I did too much talking and some of them were having a tough time staying with me (I noticed one with droopy eyes).

All in all it went well. Not too much of feeling like I was telling them stuff they already knew (and if I was and they didn't stop me it's there fault, since I asked them to tell me if they knew something already).

Now I don't have to feel odd walking into class with all of them at 3:30 this afternoon.
