Time off from work has been great. Don't wanna go back, but it's only about a week and a half till I'm done there so that thought keeps me going. And only a couple more weeks till I go to Melbourne! Very excited about that, and also very nervous. So much new stuff to get used to and I have to worry about job interviews and the like. And the money! I think I've got one of the worst places to try rent my unit and they're doing a shit job and the longer they take, the longer I'm paying mortgage and rent. But it'll all work out eventually. And hopefully Virgin will accept my credit card application so I can swap to them and have 6 months interest free.
Have found music in the last week. Jared Leto surprised me by having an awesome song and video for his band. Doesn't seem to be that often that a good actor is also a good singer. He does it for me, so I got the CD. And I got M Ward's latest and found out he's doing a show here on Thursday...but I don't think I'll be able to make it to that. And considering I've only just discovered him and the latest album is his 5th, I don't mind too much, I'll hardly know anything he plays.
I think 2007 is gonna be a big change year. I'm going to Melbourne, Tony to Sydney and one of my NZ friends has a work visa for a year in Canada after which she'll be going to London (which hopefully will work in nicely with me having a place to stay when I go there - which will have to be pushed back to 2008 now, sadly).
Xmas was full of german beer and cocktails, including a very potent banana one (the banana liqueur smells just like those banana lollies, very nice!). And speaking of bananas, it's nice to see they're back to reasonable prices. I've been having a banana sandwich for lunch nearly every day over the last week.
As for New Years, I'm totally not in party mode, specially to be around ppl I don't know. Would be more inclined if it was just to hang out with a few ppl, but don't see that happening so I've opted for the night in. New Years has never been that much of a big deal for me anyway. I'll watch the fireworks on TV and relax.
