"Every man is guilty of all the good he didn't do." ~ Voltaire
This is a value I've really been trying to instill in myself as of late. I'm well accustomed to watching or reading the news and wondering, "How could anybody treat another human being that way?" in the face of murders, beatings, rapes, and all of the other glorious atrocities which we as a species seem hellbent on committing daily. But what about the people, such as you and I, who stand by and do nothing at all when a stranger is in need of help? Perhaps the Golden Rule, naive and loopholed as it is, is not such a stupid idea after all.
