So, I decided to give "Fifty Shades of Grey" a chance to see what all of the buzz was about. At first I downloaded the sample from iBooks, which is about 7 or 8 chapters worth and I was hooked. After that I decided to order the whole trilogy since it was not much more expensive than just buying the first book anyway.
I guess I shouldn't be so surprised that I got hooked because it reads almost exactly like "Twilight", which I am obsessed with, but it is more of an adult version and without the supernatural elements. Mysterious Adonis, check, independent yet inexperienced/awkward young woman, check, unexplored emotions, check.
So now there is going to be a movie made out of it and EVERYONE is talking about who should play the two lead characters. Well, before I even started reading the books, I thought that Ian Somerhalder fit the description of Christian Grey to a T, however, my subconscious had other ideas because I couldn't stop picturing Colin Egglesfield (who I absolutely fell in love with ever since watching "Something Borrowed")as Christian Grey when I actually started reading the book. He is my perfect Christian Grey.
As for Anastasia Steele, I read a lot of other people's thoughts on who they thought should play her. I hated the idea of Kristen Stewart playing her as I have read those comments on Twitter. There were some others I scoffed at as well. The ones I actually didn't mind the thought of were Jennifer Lawrence, Kristin Kreuk, Mila Kunis, and Scarlett Johannson, but I know people would think Kristin Kreuk was too Asian looking, Mila Kunis too sexy looking, and Scarlett too, I don't know, whatever. Then I came across someone's comment on Facebook about Alexandra Daddario. I didn't recognize the name, so I looked her up and duh, I know her as Kate from "White Collar"! Looking at her picture with her gorgeous blue eyes (I'm so jealous), perfect fair skin (again I'm jealous), not sexy, but beautiful, and this sort of innocent look about her, it was like a lightbulb went on in my head. She is the perfect pick to play Ana.
So here is my dream casting of Christian Grey (Colin Egglesfield) and Anastasia Steele (Alexandra Daddario):
