I've read this before but it stilll makes me sniffle, in a good way.

Very touching and I do like the hopeful ending.

Poor boys.

It is a good story, I enjoyed it.

I love when fics interweave through the canon!

So why was it that Ray had gotten into the habit of picking Benny up in the morning and driving him home in the evening? Why was it that sometimes Benny would walk the eight blocks in the other direction to the Precinct, if Ray had been held up, so that Ray could drive him the fifteen blocks back again? Ray blinked. Before now he hadn’t thought about it; but it was true, it did happen.

Sorry to quote all of that but - YES. Hi, Ray, welcome to the truth of your life! Hee.

But Ray wasn’t about to think about that now. “And you’re still clothed and Mountie neat. Capisce?”

I loved that! And I really like the image of Fraser doing Ray's tie; it's so intimate.

Thank you so much.

I'm really pleased to hear you enjoyed the way canon interweaved through this.

You needn't apologise for quoting the whole thing - it's lovely to know what grabs people. And indeed, that is so true.

I loved that! And I really like the image of Fraser doing Ray's tie; it's so intimate.

Thank you very much indeed. I really like little touches like this, so it's great to know other people do too.

Thank you for reading and I'm so glad you enjoyed this.

I HATE my laptop! It is so twitchy it flipped out of my comment screen and I lost everything I was writing to you!

Be assured, I wanted to read this fic the moment I'd seen it was posted, but I didn't feel I deserved to until I had the story I was writing finished and beta'd.

Like sdwolfpup above, I really like stories that fit themselves within the canon, and then take some of those canon moments and look at them in another way. For example, I LOVED how you had Vecchio actually hearing Fraser's story about Victoria and the sadness in his voice while telling it; if canon had happened that way, how differently would Ray have acted when first meeting Victoria ( ... )

Argh, that's happened to me before now - and it's *always* when you're written several lines or it's something important. It never seems to happen at other times.

Thank you very much indeed, that's reassuring. And I do know that feeling.

Oh, I am glad that you too like canon interweaved stories, that is a relief. I'm so glad you liked my take on the fact that Ray did hear Benny talking about Victoria - thank you.

I also love hardcore h/c, and the similar nightmares of the boys after the lake incident, and Ray finding Fraser crying and huddled in a phone booth, lost and at loose ends... my heartstrings ache from the tugging.*Smiles happily* Thank you. This has really made my day, I'm so pleased to hear how much this scene touched you ( ... )

The first part, set after P&P, could have been a story all to itself. The fact that there was MORE, and it included kissing!boys, and then exorcized the demons left by the bitch-from-hell... well, that was all just (majorly yummy) icing on the cake.

And I want to echo what dragonflymuse said, 'cause she said it so well:

I also love hardcore h/c, and the similar nightmares of the boys after the lake incident, and Ray finding Fraser crying and huddled in a phone booth, lost and at loose ends... my heartstrings ache from the tugging.

Yup -- that's it exactly! Achy, in a most delicious way...

I really loved this! As I'm coming to love all your stories... but each one has such character! This one for example, several people have mentioned the interweave through actual episodes. I liked that too! But your own touches just made it so thoughtful... something that the episodes clearly lacked. For example, I always wondered why Ray's sister wasn't more upset that he almost drowned when she couldn't get to the keys. And she would complain about a blanket? Not likely... Frannie's not that shallow and you made her just right. And the break down Benny had...so touching. It really had an affect on both Ray and me, your audience. And the realization Ray had that after he shot Fraser everything would be all right again after all... I almost cried.

You deserved a hundred great reviews for this story... hopefully this one can make up for the more you deserved!

Thank you very much indeed.

You really have made my day with your wonderful feedback on several of my stories.

I am really chuffed by your words and I'm delighted my touches made the story thoughtful for you. I'm glad you feel I made Frannie 'right'. As you say she was 'odd' at the time, so I'm glad this worked.

I'm pleased Benny's break-down worked okay, that's good to hear. And that it affected you as well as Ray - thank you.

I am really so very moved that I have touched and moved you so deeply. Thank you so very much.

*Blush* Thank you for that. You really have made my day.
