So I just got home from watching Avatar with L & S.
It was fantastic!
I'd heard a lot from people about how the story is simple or predictable, and it was. But that's ok, because it's not trying to be super-duper clever. There was a simple story to be told, and they did.
But it's told with such passion for spectacle, I could hardly believe my eyes.
If a 170 minute movie can have me searching the screen trying to memorise everything I'm seeing every moment, then they've succeeded at crafting an amazing piece of cinema. Well done Weta Digital, you've outdone yourself.
I really want to take my little brothers to see it, because it's simple enough that they'll understand it all, but also so amazing it'll blow their mind.
