Frankie says relax, bitch.

So I skipped the dance on Saturday to go to a movie with a friend instead; hey, at least I didn't mope around at home. Replacing one social activity with another is perfectly acceptable, methinks. Anyways, we saw the movie Alpha Dog which was really quite good all things considering. It wasn't as thought-provoking as perhaps it liked to think it was, but it was entertaining as hell in a disturbing, train-wreck sort of way. I mean, you know a movie's worth seeing when, in the few moments following the climax, the entire theater goes silent until a voice in the back says weakly "That's fucked up, man." Plus, Justin Timberlake can sort of actually act! I know.

In other news, I wrote pr0n the other day that didn't completely suck! Well, figuratively speaking. Literally is enough matter entirely, content wise. But I digress. (In case you're wondering, said pr0n is for an original work which, as soon as I iron out some timeline and plot kinks, should be getting written soon. I promise.)

Goddamnit, there is so much music that I want right now, and I'm flat broke. I just got finished paying off my parents for the Christmas presents I bought everyone. I do have a fifty dollar check lying around, but I feel like I should save that for something special, rather than blowing it on a bunch of CDs (or, alternatively, manga).

  • The Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers
  • Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones
  • Death Cab for Cutie - Plans
  • Deerhoof - Friend Opportunity
  • Saosin - Saosin
  • Waking Ashland - Composure
  • Wolf Parade - Apologies to the Queen Mary
  • I Am Ghost - Lover's Requiem (
the_asalina, this is the group I said sounded like a fusion of Evanescence circa "Fallen" and Panic! at the Disco)
  • hellogoodbye - Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! (I really don't think you can beat that for an album title.)
  • Cold War Kids - Robbers and Cowards
  • The Donnas -  Spend the Night
  • Also, anything by the following: Veruca Salt, the Pixies, Garbage, Ok Go, Le Tigre, Curve, Imogen Heap
If anyone feels like being very kind and generous (not to mention a teensy bit illegal) and has these albums/artists, and would like to share a few files with me? I would be indebted to you forever. Also: I can do an inventory of my own music collection and see if it contains anything you'd like and/or you could make a request and I'll do my best to fulfill it.
