I leaned on the wall and the wall leaned away

The Arts Allow Us To Discover Who We Can Be is a blog run by Swedish girls who like taking pictures of themselves, their surroundings and people in weird sunglasses. I don't understand a word of what they write, but scrolling through it is a joy. Their photos are often full of colour and always full of character, it's what photography is about, capturing moments and having fun. Real people creating a world of their own, with crazy outfits and beautiful surroundings (love the pictures they take in the forest). If fashion photography was like this young girls wouldn't feel the need to look like models, because these pictures show the beauty of individuality and creativity more than anything else. I always wanted to have a blog similar to this, but alas I don't have the time, skills or patience to maintain it. Maybe someday, though.

I saw Control yesterday. It was intense. The cinema was full and sometimes I caught myself nodding along and tapping my foot to the music and had to pull myself together 'cause I didn't want to distact the others from the film. What irritated me is that Sam Riley looks so much like Pete Doherty. Not that he wasn't authentic, in fact he was really good, but it's still strange if someone playing a musician bears such a close resemblance to another one. Also, the Killers' cover of 'Shadowplay' at the end disturbed me. I hate the Killers, it was painful suffering through it.
Overall the film was really interesting, the epileptic seizure scenes were incredible and the fact that the actors recorded the songs they performed...respect, I loved their versions. And I know everybody says so, but I really have to mention the black & white aesthetic, they created an incredible atmosphere of their own. Also loved the mentions of poetry, oftentimes poetry in films turns out cheesy and inappropriate, as if they included it for the sake of it, but here it fitted in quite well.
Today's my mother's birthday, so we're going out to breakfast now. 'M not really hungry, but whatever. Birthday cake for breakfast's fine with me.
