Yes, she's a beautiful brunette

I saw The Brunettes on the 16th and took a couple of pictures, maybe some of you are interested. They were extremely lovely, even better than I expected with lots of instruments, even a wee wind instrument choir. You should check them out if you don't know them yet, their records are tweefabulous as well and go see them if they play near you, they deserve a bigger audience!

I quite liked the venue.

Heather Mansfield (pronounced Hee-ther for whatever reason) is an incredibly talented girl, so much's for sure. Plays the keyboard, the clarinet and two different xylophones and still manages to be the lead singer.

Jonathan Bree (or JB, lol), a fine specimen of mankind and really good singer, he nailed his vocals every single time

Feat. the water bottle of the rather annoying Brunettes fanboy in front of me who forced me to participate in the dance contest

Did I mention the amazing wind instruments?

Some beer commercial, but I quite like the heart-anchor thing

There was this tiny door right by the disco ball, weird

Fancy light bulb

If you read 'High Fidelity' you know why I took a picture of you. If you didn't then a. shame on you and b. the record store of the main character in HF is called Championship Vinyl.

I didn't manage to snag a setlist even though the were written on cardboard plates and looked awesome, but I remember what they opened and closed with and the rest of the songs they played, but not the correct order. Unordered setlist:

Brunettes Against Bubblegum Youth (B A B Y)
Obligatory Road Song
Small Town Crew
Bestfriend Envy
The Record Store
Her Hairagami Set
Polyester Meets Acetate
Wall Poster Star
Credit Card Mail Order
If You Were Alien
The Moon In June Stuff (dance contest)
Mars Loves Venus (dance contest)
Mary Kate And Ashley
Holding Hands, Feeding Ducks
Structure and Cosmetics
Your Heart Dies

The Brunettes will definitely be featured in my next monthly music post, so watch out for that. I also saw their latest album 'Structure and Cosmetics' posted on indie_exchange, if anyone's interested.
