There are countries in the world where people get killed, lawfully, for being gay.
And we get upset because BERT AND ERNIE can't get married? When there are no married muppets (to my knowledge) anyway?!

I'd get it if this were your normal soap opera where people get married all the time. If there's a gay couple and it's possible for them to marry, they should go for it.
But on a show where none of the characters get married to each other? Why exactly is that upsetting?
And, you know, Bert and Ernie aren't actually gay, so this is even less of an issue.
