We went on a hike today and walked a trillion miles in the Thuringian Forest, along the Rennsteig. We spotted this:
Any guesses what this is?
Yep, it's ice. It's not the branch's hairdo, even though it really looks like it.
ETA: Found out that this is a very rare phenomenon in nature that is actually called "Haareis" (hair ice, yes, really) in German.
