Title: The Initiative
Characters: Castiel, Dean Winchester, Sam, Bobby
Summary: Castiel is decorating Bobby's house for the holidays and he finds something that interests him
Castiel helped around Bobby’s to decorate for a Christmas theme Dean wanted to see. It was Sam’s idea to surprise his brother since Dean kept going on and on about how he wanted to spend classic Holiday time with Sam, Bobby, and Cas. Bobby fumbled through his basement, taking out his collection of Christmas decorations his wife used to put up. He smiled, knowing that he’d used it again this year and even better that he’ll spend it with the boys instead of being alone. A mistletoe had caught Castiel’s eyes and he picked it up, examining it carefully. Sam noticed this but he didn’t want to say anything until Castiel approaches him first.
Castiel didn’t know much about human rituals and their odd holidays. This is his first Christmas and he intends to know how to act and what to know. He studied the mistletoe for a minute and decided he would ask Sam.
“It’s a mistletoe and it’s tradition for two people to kiss under it.” Castiel titled his head.
“Why?” Sam shrugged his shoulders.
“It’s just tradition, I guess. You kiss someone under it who means a lot to you.” Castiel stared at Sam and then at the mistletoe.
“Can we put this up?” Castiel still staring at the mistletoe. “Where is it usually hung?” He looked up and Sam tried not to smile.
“Usually hallway entrances would be good…” Castiel’s eyes trailed towards the entrance near him, it led from the doorway to the living room. He decided he’d hang it there.

Before Christmas Eve was soon to be over, Dean had finally come home from his little late shopping spree for presents. Bobby and Sam were in the living room, sitting and reading, Castiel was near the hallway, anxiously waiting. When Dean entered, he dropped the presents near the door and excitedly ran towards the living room. Castiel, on his toes, jumped on Dean and kissed him on the lips. Dean was surprised but he didn’t push Cas. He embraced him as Castiel pulled him in tighter. After a few more seconds, Castiel let go and smiled at Dean. Dean beaned. “Merry Christmas, Dean.”
“Took you long enough, Cas.”
