Vacation

No, you didn't read that subject line wrong. Elly and I are actually enjoying an honest-to-God vacation. :-)

Our tenth anniversary is in a couple days, and we had decided that we wanted to "re-do" our honeymoon trip...but this time WITH money. :-) So the end of September finds us in Ashland, Oregon. We've gone to a handful of plays produced by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in the last few days, and will go to a few more before the end of the week. We spent the day yesterday driving up to Crater Lake National Park (I could not honestly remember if I had ever visited Crater Lake before, but now I have). The weather was fabulous, and Elly tolerant of my tendencies towards staring at rock formations as much as we stared at the lake itself. We've done a bit of shopping, but I anticipate the next few days will be the serious drain on the pocketbook (interests in history, acting, and music all tend to be expensive ones).

Much of the time has been spent, however, just blissfully sitting around, enjoying the weather, and reading.

It's been a good time. Hopefully our cats haven't destroyed the apartment in our absense.

And, of course, as soon as we get back home, Elly gets on a plane to fly to Houston for a week and I find out whatall has piled up on my desk in a week-and-a-half. We both ARE engineers, after all. :-) No vacation lasts past the day we say we are going to be back at work.
