I'm still here!

So I've lived in the house for a whole week as of yesterday. So far it rules, despite the fact that work is interfering with my house-time. Although I suppose that could just mean I moved in at the perfect time, just before things get interesting.

Anyway it's awesome, although I'm still getting used to the 'you won't bother anyone by making noise' bit. To combat this I put Fellowship in the DVD player the other day and I've been watching it in chunks with the volume loud enough so the loud parts are somewhat uncomfortable, like in a good theater (IMHO of course). And I've been running around the house with the fat cat, as she is having a great time since I don't yell at her for running around any more.

Speaking of the cats, they're both essentially back to normal; they're still getting used to the space, and they tend to want me to stay near when I'm here, but other than that they're having a good time with the space. And they seem to be eating way less, which makes me think they ate so much at the apartment because they were bored. Still haven't decided on a new kitten or not; it'd probably be best to wait until work calms down.

Now if I just had time to unpack. And do my projects, dammit; I have a lawn to take care of now! It needs fertilizer! I have things to install! Rar.

Work is awesome despite the 'work' parts. There's been a lot of frustration this week but my new boss is doing a pretty damn good job of taking care of it, and we seem to work really well together in addition. Not that my old boss sucked or anything, she was a great boss. And I'm not just saying that because she reads this. ;)

Unfortunately as things are heating up at work, fu has been canceled for the summer, which sucks as today was going to be my first day back; I feel blobby and slow. I asked the instructor if he had any reccomendations as to how to keep in shape during the downtime, and he actually suggested that I continue classes at his school. I told him I didn't want to embarrass him, and he said if he was worried about that he wouldn't have suggested I go there. Which was a pretty sweet compliment. :) Unfortunately with the house I want to wait a few months to make sure the money situation is as controlled as I think it is before I go adding expenses, but I am considering it; I really, really like martial arts.

If nothing else I may get a bag or something to whack on now that I have the space. Of course, I need to clear the boxes out of the space first.

house, kung fu, kittens!
