Hmmm... its been a while, but Ill just update what I did yesterday.
Jessie, Tarachan, and I met up at Asahikawa station and an AFS lady drove us to Asahiyama zoo. There we met up with all the other AFSers plus summer host brother/hakkans current host brother Yoshia. Id already been there twice before, but I had a Zoo "passport" (aka season pass), and it is winter and very snowy now, so its more interesting. Luckily since it was fuh-reezing and snowy and windy there werent very many people. One of the first things that happened was the zoo keeperes let out the penguins and marched them around the zoo so they (the penguins not the zoo keepers) could get exercise. SO that was pretty neat, and we saw the polar bears go crazy and start fighting, plus some lepords growl at people for getting close to the cage.
Next we went to snow play area where we got to ride a banana boat pulled by a snow mobile. We rode in pairs, so tarachan and I rode together. It wasnt too fast, but jessie said it was more fun if you screamed, so we whooped and hollered untill our faces froze. Then we decided to rent some sleds and sled. But turns out the designated sledding "hill" was litteraly at about a 4 degree angle, so gravity alone wouldnt push you, and after running, jumping on, and stopping alot, we decided that sucked so we left.
We planned on going home, but spontaniously decided to go ice skating. Hakkan and Yoshia didnt come, so it was just Charlie, Christie, Jessie, Tarachan and I. Needless to say we all got shamed by the magnifacent skating skills of 4 year olds and 60 year olds, but it was still fun. Some elementary school kids got enthralled by charlie (maybe because of the blonde hair?..) and she proceeded to introduce them to me, thus passing the curse. They werent too bad, I raced them and tried to understand them, all the while trying not to be left alone with them. They started to get weary of me and left, except for one 3rd grader boy, He was pretty interesting cause you could tell hed be one of those funny popular kids in high school. And he kept challenging me to races and fights and stuff, so that was funny. Except then when I was skating with tarachan, the kid ramed playfully into me but fell on his forehead and it looked like he really hurt his head. So we asked if he was ok, and he got all quiet and left. Then I saw him talking to Charlie, Christie, and Jessie, and I went over after he left only to be attacked verbaly (and some shoulder hits) ripping me to pieces for punching a little kid in the eye. So that made me really mad, cause the dumb kid told them I punched him and arrghh, that moron. Then they actually took a strange japanese 8 year olds word over mine!! Though Jessie saw I was pissed off by the situation and told me she believed me, but Charlie and Christie still dont.
Then Christie hurt her leg so her and charlie left. Then there werent very many people left, so us 3 had the rink mostly to ourselves and tried learning to do tricks. Then we decided to go to the city and split up, but turns out the bus to the city would continue to my house, so I didnt need to switch at the station. Im really gonna miss Tarachan and Jessie, I really got closer to them thes past couple of months which has been a huge help. Tarachan is absolutly crazy, but hes so funny and nice, and Jessie is absolutly awesome too. So we are trying to meet alot because we have 1 week left till school starts. Plus we wanna go to Disney Sea in Tokyo when we go there before we leave. And Jessie leaves the 3rd (tarachan and I leave the 4th) so we said we'd go to the airport and say by to her, so Tokyo should be fun.
Then I got home and Okaasan had 2 friends over and we had pizza hut, so Okaasan asked if we had pizza hut in America, and if Id eaten pizza before (never mind the fact that Ive told her 5 times my brother worked part time at a pizza place and we usually ordered out once every 2 weeks). So I said pizaa hut is a company that came from america, she was like, oh you havent. So I said no and repeated myself, but she still thought I was talking about never eating pizza before. Finnaly I just said Pizza Hut is an American company, to which everyone screeched out すごい and laughter. Then I got asked by one of the friends what my the best thing I did in Japan, and I said I wasnt sure, so then she said, "oh I know, its Sarudie!!" (for those who dont know Sarudie is this Japanese game show where the hosts are dressed as monkies) and Okaasan just screeches with laughter again.The reason this ticked me off was because if Okaasan finds anything out about me she uses it as my defining characteristic. She found out I like Sarudie and for the past 5 months whenever I turn on the TV and we have guests she ALWAYS asks if Sarudie is on and every day that isnt wednesday when we have guests, she HAS to bring it up and say "oh Nathan Im so sorry its not Wednesday, cause you LOVE Sarudie!!haha". So its VERY frustrating when her and all her friends believe the stories she tells about how Im obsessed with this show and constantly talk about it, though Ive never brought it up she always has. I know that may not seem like a reasonable thing to get upset about, but believe me, this ALWAYS happens, on a list of subjects, ie school, food, and any other topic. And whenever I say something like "I dont like it that much/ I only see it every now and then/youre the one who always brings it up" they just laugh and say no, no Im wrong, like they are talking to a 3 year old. Yeah, so I cant explain it very well, but it ALWAYS happens and ALWAYS druve me crazy.
